Favorite things / Lucruri preferate

Hello people!

It has been a while, but I am back ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to share with you some favorites of mine that I have discovered lately. Maybe they could be useful for you as well.

  1. Photo albums from Cartuseria

Lately, I have been looking for some special photo albums as Marius has many, many old photos with his grand-parents and great-great parents that he would like to keep. Up to know, they were kept in envelopes, but with the time they got damaged. As you might know, old photos have strange shapes, some are very small, so it was very hard to use a normal photo album.

While searching for some smaller albums, I found at Cartuseria some albums that have kind of adhesive, not too much, but they do allow you to add photos of different shapes. I am very satisfied with the quality and with the result. You can find below a link to the type of album I bought.

2.ย  Lipstick from Astor

I have been looking for a while now for a lipstick that would last for long, would be matte and won’t give that oily feeling on the lips. My sister suggested me the Astor Perfect Stay lipstick and I a more than happy with it.

3. Music

Lately I have two favorite songs. One was suggest by hubby and it’s Him & I – G-Eazy and Halsey. Love it!!

The 2nd one, it’s a Turkish song that I firstly heard in a series that I am currently watching. The singer is Ceza and the name of the song is Suspus.

4. TV Series

Well, the 2nd song mentioned above, it is often used in emphasizing some very interesting parts of the Turkish series suggested by my friends Elif and Gamze – Ufak Tefak Cinayetler. I can’t wait Wednesdays to see a new episode!

That was it folks!! Kisses till the next ๐Ÿ™‚

During last year, our last trip was the one two Budapest. It was indeedย  special one as we invited our parents to join. My dad and mom came back car, while my mother in law, together with me an Marius, we flew over.

It was a marathon, as we only spent 48 hours in there – however I do believe that we enjoyed the time at its fullest.

Our parents resisted better than we thought. Marius and I are used to walk large distances, to go from one side to another, to sleep less and get up early even in holidays. And they did it as well! Of course, there were signs of tiredness, however they did not complain too much. It was like they rediscovered their adventurous inner.

We did not visit too many objectives or museums, however, what we saw was enough to amaze us. In the first week we focused on the Buda part – with Matthew’s Cathedral, the Citadel and the Fisherman’s Bastion.

In the 1st evening we went to the Christmas market organized in front of theย Saint Stephan’s Cathedral and we became once again kids while watching the amazing 3d screenings on the huge walls. We drank mulled wine and tried some local cuisine before going home and sleep in order to get ready for the 2nd day.

We do enjoy traditional things – that is why we started the following day with few hours spent at the local market. We tried some food, some beer, we both some souvenirs for the ones back home and we agreed to come back later on that night to have dinner.

We visited the area close to the Parliament, as it was closed to visit due to an official meeting with China’s representatives. We walked along the shore and we saw the Memorial Shoes Monument, tracing the tragic destiny of the Jews during the WW II.

After this, we had the most beautiful trip with the tram along the Danube. Once we got back to the Center, we went looking for store that used to be famous years ago – Tesco. Of course, we were able to find a small one,but when returning to Romania we stopped by a bigger one in Debrecen.

We also visited the old part of the city, with the museums and the old chateau – it was amazing, like a fairy tale. This was the end point of our short, but amazing trip.

Now, we are preparing for a greater trip in an amazing destination. Can’t wait for it !!!

Patience / Rabdare

Patience was never one of my virtues.ย  I was always a person with a ”do it now” attitude. Life taught me several lessons about this important topic, but still, I cannot say I had enough.

I always want to see results, on the spot if possible – I deeply dislike going round and round to obtain the same result.

Sometimes, I regret that I pay attention and have patience to listen to things that are not really important for me. I often realize that I should listen more to my family and very close friends than to – let’s call them strangers.

I am guilty of being a victim of this stressful system, society and world.

Let’s pay attention to the real important things and have patience with those who really deserve it!

Hello everybody!

As promised, here I am, back to the blog to share some more things with you. But first of all, tell me: How are you? How is your life? How are things going? Everything good at work or with your children, cats and dogs?

Today, I would like to tell you more about a quite new project of mine: A Scrapbook. As you might have already noticed, Marius and I enjoy travelling a lot. My husband is a very sentimentalist person and he enjoys gathering small things as memories.

We started doing that during our first trip together internationally – and when I mean this I refer to our planned trip abroad, because as some of you know, we already met internationally – in Republic of Turkey.

Am inceput asta in timpul primei noastre calatorii in afara – si cand spun asta ma refer la o calatorie planuita, pentru ca asa cum unii dintre voi stiu deja, ne-am cunoscut in afara, in Republica Turcia.

Marius kept the bus tickets, I kept the museum entry tickets and at first, as we were spending more time apart, we used to write something for each other and exchange the tickets at the end of the trip.

It was nice to have a good cry after our planes were departing in different directions. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ But all is good now and even if we do not spent how much time we would like to together, we do enjoy it and dream about the day when nothing would separate us.

But back to the scrapbook!

Dar inapoi la Jurnal!

We wanted to keep all the tickets safe so I thought about putting them all together, in a chronological order in an album. I started with Republic of Turkey, as it will always be a special place for us.

Below you can see some pictures of the work I have done so far. Enjoy and there will be more to come!

Life in the capital city – Bucharest updates / Viata la capitala

Well, well, well – I must say that life in Bucharest is nicer than I ever thought it will:)

Mai, mai, mai – trebuie sa spun ca viata in Bucuresti e mai buna decat as fi crezut vreodata:)

Of course, it also has some negative features – as the fact that I spend 2 hours every day to go and come from work or as having to endure the crowd in the metro station. But hey, this is life – it can be always sweet as honey!

All in all, I must say that there are far more possibilities here than in any other Romanian city – even more than in the so praised Cluj – which by the way I never liked:)

Cu toate astea, trebuie sa spun ca aici sunt mult mai multe posibilitati decat in orice alt oras din Romania – chiar si decat in atat de mult laudatul Cluj – care, apropo, nu mi-a placut niciodata:)

Since I came to Bucharest I discovered its beautiful parts, the ones that someone from another part of the country – especially Transylvania may not understand. They say, us, the relatives of Dracula are very calm and slow – which is not actually true in my case – but still, it does apply to many of my friends or acquaintances – not family, because we are all made from the same material.

People from Bucharest are used to a more active life, where quicker action is requested almost on a second to second basis, but hey, it has its magic! Some silence is always welcomed, but for this I must say I am quite lucky as we spend most of our weekend near Brasov.

One of the things I like the most about Bucharest is related to the endless possibilities – there is always a new bar or cafe to discover, there is always a new concert or a theater play. You have many areas where you can walk and breath pure air far from the so blamed traffic.

When it comes to the learning opportunities, again – there is no other city in Romania that could provide more for you, your relatives or even children. Which is great!

This post is not only related to this city, but also to some updates in my life. I still enjoy living here, although is heart-breaking to be far from the loved hubby. However, what is the most important is the fact that we support each other and we encourage one another to be successful and satisfied professionally, not only personally.

Since I am here, I get the possibility to challenge myself more – as a shy person I do need to interact whit many more new persons, I get the chance to often attend cultural activities and I get the chance to be better informed about everything!! ’cause everything starts from the capital…

I still love my job – is so great to interact with people from another part of the world – as I am a dedicated recruiter for South African Area and an official backup for Turkey. Is nice to discover new cultures and new people….and to keep on working with a culture that you already know soooo well ๐Ÿ™‚

Pardon me, I kept on writing and I forgot to wish you a happy new and prosperous year, full of accomplishments, joy and wonderful time with your dear ones!

Scuzati-ma, m-am luat cu scrisul si am uitat sa va urez un an nou prosper, plin de reusite, bucurie si time frumos petrecut cu cei dragi!

I made a promise to myself – that I will write more often – inspired being by my colleague Elif – who, as I write this post – is flying to Cuba

Until next time, hugs and smiles !

In jurul orei 22:30 am ajuns si in micutul, dar simpaticul Balchik si am pornit in cautarea hotelului.

Hello, hello!!! Today I decided to write something and when I entered I was surprised to see that my last article was written on 3rd of July. Shame on me! But I have excuses and I am not afraid to use them:)

This summer many things happened in my life: the new job, I moved to Bucharest, the city of which I was so afraid up to not long ago, I needed to adapt again to a limited time spent with Marius…many things, but hopefully all these sacrifices will bring us many benefits.

In viata personala, m-am bucurat de timp frumos petrecut cu Marius, atat in tara cat si in strainatate.

I was in an adapting period at my work place and I felt super tired in the first month, but slowly everything became better. In our personal life, we enjoyed nice time spent together, in Romania but outside as well. Well yes, this is what I am going to talk about today.

We wanted so bad to go to Greece as we heard many beautiful things about this country. And yes, it is a beautiful country, with warm and positive people, with history and good food. However, our experience was not the best.

We decided to go to Athens, in order to visit as many objectives as possible and we even thought that we will run short on time. Well, an advice: If you want to visit Athens, do not plan an entire holiday there, but reserve one day to pass by, it is enough!

Public transport, pretty modern, but is better in Bucharest. When it comes to prices, I can tell you that Marius and I bought 72 hours passes with 22 euro/person. We had the possibility to take any of the public means, limitless and the transfer from and to the airport was included (is 1 hour far away from Athens).

The accommodation was good, we paid for 3 nights 150 euro, breakfast included. The hotel we stayed at is called Exarchion, has 3 stars and is very close to Omonia metro station. We recommended to those who aren’t too picky and for those who are going in holidays to have fun and explore, not for those going to sleep.

And as I mentioned the metro station, I should mention that all the negative karma related to this holiday started here: While climbing the stairs (the normal ones, not the automatic ones because we are active), someone tried to steal my phone. Lucky that my hero husby caught the guy while his hand was on my purse. I did not feel anything as I was moving. What could we do? No police, nobody reacted…They did not get it, but still for us it was a turning point.

We visited everything we could when it comes to history monuments and museums in one day and we still had time for a swim:) If you plan to visit monuments, museums and other famous places in Athens, you can buy at Acropolis entrance a combo ticket – 30 euro and you will be able to visit many many places without paying any other fee. This is a plus for Athens and for tourism.

My favourite place is still Monastiraki, the centre, as it made me feel good, relaxed, it had many lights, cute music and the noise of those asking you to buy souvenirs from them. Of course, Marius bought several scarfs for his collection (football team scarfs) with no less than 4 pieces. Ok, I admit, I also bought magnets ๐Ÿ™‚

In Atena chiar merita!

The food is not too expensive and is very good. Another recommendation that I would do is related to the tourist buses tours. In Athens it is really worth! We bought the full pack, with 25 euro for 2 days. The best part is that in this amount you can benefit and have a free guided tour of the city, you can go to Pireus, but also outside of city, approx. 30 km along the seaside. The bus stops at every beach and as you get far away from the centre, everything becomes more beautiful.

The last stop is at Vouliagmeni Lake, a great place. Here we decided to spend the beach day. The entrance fee to the lake is 12 euro/person, but we choose to stay by the sea.

Numai ca, vedeti voi, ghinionul nu ne-a parasit: Marius s-a intepat intr-un arici de mare si spinii i-au ramas in degetel copilului (bine ca nu e alergic) si i s-a stricat si telefonul, brusc si dintr-o data. Ce sa iti mai doresti? Sa te intorci acasa, asta iti doresti!

You see, the bad luck did not leave us at all: Marius stepped into a sea hedgehog and the needles left in my babies toe (lucky us that he is not allergic) and then his phone got broken, suddenly, without doing anything to it. What can you wish more for? To go back home!ย

We returned, but you think the story is over, if at the arrival the front door of the plane did not open, anticipating what was about to happen, at the departure our plane was delayed. Poor Marius was wondering: ”What else could happen?” and I have forbidden him to ask this questions before we land:))

But hey, I was lucky enough to have the chance to write this article:) All in all I do not regret that we had these experiences. Certainly I learnt how important is to be patient and enjoy your time with people, not the things you have.
